Meaning of Bàbá Wèrè.

Bàbá Wèrè is a slang that Yoruba guys and ladies use to address a guy who is prone to doing crazy stuffs. It’s not necessarily an insult. But rather, it’s a slang used to tease other people. It is commonly used among Yoruba guys that are friends to refer to each other. Baba were is NOT an insult. Rather, it’s a teasing remark. Yoruba people are known to play with insults casually.

Bàbá wèrè means literally, “Crazy man or Crazy father”.

Example:

1. Bọbọ yìí tí tun lọ mú ọtí.. bàbá wèrè!

(This guy has gone again to drink beer.. crazy man!)
