Ẹnú gbẹ mó need owo is a song newly released in 2019 by Afropop singer Opeyemi. I love this song. Why? Because it is just so funny.
The meaning of “Ẹnú gbẹ mó need owo” is “My mouth is dry, I need money.”.
This leaves one wondering what the correlation is between a dry mouth and money right? That’s exactly what makes it funny to me. Well, to the average Yoruba person translating the funny statement, it doesn’t mean that the singer’s mouth is dry “literally”.. but it means that HE IS BROKE. 😂 Like, to me, the guy’s sense of humor is damn hilarious!
So, the real meaning of “Ẹnú gbẹ mó need owo” is, “I am broke, I need money.” 😁
I think the song is amazing. It has this beautiful blend of Yoruba Fuji with hip hop. I also like the fact that the singer isn’t afraid to state that he is broke in a song. Like, he is utterly shameless! 😂 The song will make you dance as it has a Yoruba Fuji vibe to it. You will enjoy it!
