Alphabets in Yorùbá Language/ Álúfábẹẹ̀tì èdè Yorùbá

Just like the English language has its alphabets, so does Yoruba language. The alphabets of Yoruba Language are 25 in total. There are 7 vowels in Yoruba alphabets and 18 consonants. They are,

Aa Bb Dd Ee Ẹẹ Ff Gg GBgb Hh Ii Jj Kk Ll Mm Nn Oo Ọọ Pp Rr Ss Ṣṣ Tt Uu Ww Yy.

The vowels are seven in Yorùbá Language. They are:

Aa Ee Ẹẹ Ii Oo Ọọ Uu.

So, As you can see from our listings, there are 25 letters in the Yorùbá alphabet. There are seven vowels and 18 consonants. As you can see, there is no “C”, “Q”, “V”, and “Z” in Yoruba alphabets.
