Àgbàlagbà- Here’s The Meaning.

Àgbàlagbà is a Yorùbá Word for “elderly person” or “aged person” or “old person”.

Àgbàlagbà are to be respected, feared and honored in Yoruba land. Being an Àgbàlagbà is a respectable stage in one’s life as a Yoruba. As a young person you can’t talk back to an Àgbàlagbà or question them in Yorùbá land.

Example:

1. Àwọn olórí wá lorilẹ ede Naijiria, àgbàlagbà ní wọ́n…

(Our leaders in this nation Nigeria, are all elderly people..)
